The trip began badly, first because we had to get up at 6am to meet Dav and secondly because I broke down just outside Nottingham. Getting back to pick up Pete's car meant we missed the first river, Upper and Lower Conwy. We managed to get there in time for the rain to start, levels came up quickly and we got in a good run. Unfortunately by the morning everything had gone down again.
| River | Grade | Description | Advice |
| Conwy | 3/4(5) | Bugger, we missed it! | Don't miss it |
| Black pudding and weak ale | Gay - | Its not a river it's what you buy in Spar after a curry | You dnon't need to cook the pudding, but its not that great! Weak ale is cheap but not as good as Spar Whiskey. |
| Nantygwyryd | 4 | Nice steep and narrow top section in the middle of nowhere. One portage (difficult 5+). A bit flat 2nd half with a waterfall under the bridge near the takeout. No need to inspect "It's fine" | Don't bother trying to turn your boat round, it's too narrow. |
| Ogwen | 4(5?) | Ogwen bank falls looks like a good place to lose some skin. The Gunbarrel is the g4 afterwards and looks like there could be a large hole in high water. The gorge section is good, continuous and fun | We paddled it at about the lowest level that would be fun. Everything would be harder in higher levels. It was pretty nice though |
