Before this trip, the club had a reasonable amount of experience on the lower volume runs of France, Spain, Wales, Scotland etc but had yet to acquire Big Water Experience! This is what we hoped for in Canada. We were also keen on visiting the mighty Skookumchuck for some surfing action. We chose not to take creek boats as we dont have any, and so we were restricted to paddling the less extreme runs (fine by me!). We went in July/August and although weather is generally good at that time of year we had a lot of rain resulting in some high levels, and some of the play sections we paddled having the best waves washed out. Temperaturs were in the 20C. Travel was by car and van (cool!) as we couldnt get roofracks. Accomdation was camping generally in provincial campsites (cheap and not too many bears!). We flew with Canada 3000 and had no trouble with flying boats.
